What changes the timeline
Parts availability
The biggest delay in most repairs is waiting on parts. Common bumpers and lamps often arrive in a day or two; dealer-only or back-ordered parts can take a week or more. We order as soon as the repair is approved so the car is not sitting.
Insurance approval
When a claim is involved, work starts after the insurer reviews the estimate. If we find hidden damage once panels come off, a supplement has to be approved too. Sending photos early and keeping your claim number handy helps speed this up.
Hidden damage
A bumper that looks scuffed can hide broken brackets, absorbers or sensors. We take the damaged area apart before giving a final timeline so there are no surprises halfway through.
Paint and cure time
Paint needs time in the booth and time to cure before reassembly. Pearl and tri-coat colors take extra passes. Rushing this step is what causes paint problems later in the Las Vegas heat.
Sensors and calibration
Newer cars have cameras and radar in bumpers, mirrors and windshields. After a repair these often need to be calibrated, which can add a day.
How to get your car back faster
- Text or email photos of the damage first — we can often order parts before the car even arrives.
- Have your claim number and adjuster contact ready if insurance is paying.
- Ask for a written estimate that lists which parts need to be ordered.
- Ask whether the timeline includes paint cure time and any sensor calibration.
- We keep you updated by call or text so you are never guessing when your car will be ready.

Common questions about repair time
How long does collision repair take?
Small repairs like a scratch or bumper usually take 1 to 3 days. One or two damaged panels take about 2 to 5 days. Larger collision repairs take 1 to 2 weeks, and major structural damage can take 2 to 4 weeks or more, mostly depending on parts.
Why is my car taking longer than the estimate?
The most common reasons are back-ordered parts, hidden damage found after teardown that needs insurance approval, or sensor calibrations. We will call you as soon as anything changes the timeline.
Does insurance slow down the repair?
It can add a few days while the insurer reviews the estimate and any supplements. Starting your claim right away and sending us photos early keeps things moving.
Can I drive my car while waiting for parts?
Often yes, if the car is safe to drive — lights work, nothing is dragging and no warning lights are on. We will tell you honestly at the estimate whether it is safe to keep driving until parts arrive.
How long does it take to fix a bumper?
A bumper repair and refinish usually takes 2 to 3 days. If the bumper cover or brackets need to be replaced, add however long the parts take to arrive.
